Derrière le Miroir

Mobile en haut
Stabile en bas
Telle est la tour Eiffel
Calder est comme elle
Oiseleur du fer
Horloger du vent
Dresseur de fauves noirs
Ingénieur hilare
Architecte inquiétant
Sculpteur du temps. »

Swaying up high
Stable at the bottom
Such is the Eiffel Tower
And thus is Calder
Iron catcher
Black beast tamer
Smiling engineer
Troubling architect
Sculptor of time.

Dali and the Path of Dreams

by Anna Obiolis

Once upon a time, there was a little boy whose name was Salvador, though everyone called him Salvi. What Salvi liked most of all was to run barefoot along the beach with his hoop. One afternoon, as he was playing in the waves, he noticed something gleaming under the water. Looking closer, he saw it was a key that the sea had left there. Without thinking twice, Salvi popped it in his pocket. Then, wondering what the key might be for, Salvi hopped up on to his long-legged elephant and let his imagination lead the way…

Durme, Durme

Durme, durme, querido hijico
durme sin ansia y dolor
cerra tus chicos ojicos
durme, durme con savor.
Cerra tus lindos ojicos
durme, durme con savor.

De la cuna salirás
a la escola tu entrarás
y alli mi querido hijico
a meldar te ambezarás.

De la escola salirás
a Las Manchas te irás
a y tu mi querido hijico
al empiego entrarás.

.en translation

Sleep, sleep beloved son
Sleep with no fretting
Close your tiny eyes
Sleep, sleep restfully.
Close your beautiful eyes
Sleep, sleep restfully.

Out of the crib
To enter school
And there, my beloved son
You’ll begin to read.

Out of school
To go to Las Manchas
And you my beloved son
To work you’ll go.

Dale, dale, dale

A Piñata tradition

Dale, dale, dale,
no pierdas el tino,
Porque si lo pierdes
pierdes el camino.

Ya le diste una,
ya le diste dos;
Ya le diste tres,
¡y tu tiempo se acabó!

variant

Dale, dale, dale
y no le dio
Quítenle la venda
¡porque sigo yo!
¡Se Acabó!
¡Sigo yo! “

.en translation

Hit it, hit it, hit it,
Don’t loose your aim.
’cause if you lose it
you’ll loose your way!

DET HEV EI ROSE SPRUNGE

Lyrics .no
Det hev ei rose sprunge
ut av ei rot so grann,
som fedrene hev sunge
av Jesse rot ho rann.
Og var ein blome blid
midt i den kalde vinter
ved myrke midnatts tid.

Um denne rosa eine er
sagt Jesajas ord,
Maria møy den reine
bar rosa til vår jord.
Og Herrens miskunns makt
det store under gjorde
som var i spådom sagt.

Guds rose ljuvleg angar
og skin i jordlivsnatt.
Når hennar ljos oss fangar,
ho vert vår beste skatt.
Me syng i englelag:
No er det fødd ein frelsar,
og natti vart til dag.

Down in the meadow where the corn cobs grow

Down in the meadow where the corn cobs grow,
A grasshopper jumped on an elephant’s toe.

The elephant cried with tears in his eyes,
Why don’t you pick on someone your size?
